The Anti-Spyware Coalition (ASC) is a group
dedicated to building a consensus about definitions and best practices in the debate surrounding
spyware and other potentially unwanted technologies. The ASC is composed of anti-spyware
software companies, academics, and consumer groups, the ASC seeks to bring together a
diverse array of perspective on the problem of controlling spyware and other potentially
unwanted technologies. The ASC has released a document entitled
“Anti-Spyware
Coalition Definitions and Supporting Documents”
which offers legal definitions and
information on spyware. It has also released a
Final Working
Report of the Risk Model Description.
Australia
The Internet Industry Association (IIA) National Anti-Spyware Campaign is a website containing fact sheets, brochures, white papers, links to anti-spyware software and other relevant information to raise awareness on the spyware problematic and direct users in Australia.to solutions that will protect them. The IAA has released a publication entitled: “Taking Care of Spyware, a guide to help Australians protect themselves against spyware on the Internet”.
