Public Interest and Consumer Organizations

  1. Consumers International (CI) has carried out research on the use of ODR for consumers, particularly for cross-border disputes. CI has issued the following documents:

    This report is an electronic update of the 2000 international survey and analysis of alternative dispute resolution services (ADR) available online to consumers in cross-border disputes (Published in November 2001).

    This was the first report of CI, which provides the results of an international survey and analysis of alternative dispute resolution services for online consumers in cross-border disputes with merchants as of August 2000 (Published in December 2000).

  2. Trans Atlantic Consumer Dialogue (TACD) is a coalition of 45 European and 20 American consumer organizations that promotes the consumer interest in EU and US policy making. TACD has carried out policy work related to ODR. In February 2000, TACD issued the following document that contains a set of recommendations for the use of ODR for e-commerce transactions:
