Industry Groups

1. Global Business Dialogue on E-Commerce (GBDe), an industry group composed of major American corporations has done work on issues related to e-commerce. The GBDe has developed papers and recommendations on the use of ADR mechanisms among the business community to enhance consumer confidence. The Consumer Confidence Working Group of the GBDe has issued the following documents on ADR:
   • CI/GBDe Agreement on ADR Guidelines (November 2003)
   • Consumer Confidence: Alternative Dispute Resolution (September 2001)
   • Consumer Confidence: Alternative Dispute Resolution. Includes Annex of Existing Disputes Mechanisms (September 2001)
2. International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is a global business organization based in Paris and currently working on issues that directly affect business operations. The ICC, which has an International Court of Arbitration, has also done extensive work related to the use of ODR particularly for the use of business stakeholders worldwide. The ICC has issued the following documents on ODR:
   • Resolving disputes online: Best practices for online dispute resolution in B2C and C2C transactions, prepared by the Task Force on Consumer Policy for E-Business, chaired by Scott Cooper (Hewlett Packard, US), (November 2003).
